The size of a Mini Lot in forex trading is 10,000 units (10K units) of your account's currency. If you have a dollar-based account, then the average pip value of a forex mini lot would be approximately $1 per pip. I know $1 per pip looks like a small amount, but sometimes forex market can move over 100 pips in a day, which in turn would be a profit/loss of more than $100 within few hours. It is the regular lot size in the Forex trading marketplace, where traders can trade with 1000 units in the micro lot and 10,000 units in the mini lot. In the standard lot, traders can trade with 100,000 units of the base currency. Your lot size (in mini lots) = $10/ ($1 x 50) = 0.2 mini lot. Converting it to micro lots, it becomes 2 micro lots. Final words. The lot size is a concept in forex trading used in measuring your position size and is defined as the number of currency units you are willing to buy or sell when you enter a trade. Calculating the pip value for this forex lot size is easy because we already know it is €0.27 or $0.30. 3 micro lots x $0.10 (which is the value of a pip for one micro lot) = $0.30 per pip After clicking buy or sell, a €3,000 deal would be executed where the potential exists to profit or lose €0.27 or $0.30 per pip. In the context of forex trading, a lot refers to a batch of currency the trader controls. The lot size is variable. Typical designations for lot size include standard lots, mini lots, and micro lots. It is important to note that the lot size directly impacts and indicates the amount of risk you're taking.
